We offer:

Board Certified and Licensed Professionals.
Chiropractic Care:

Physical Therapy:

Physical Therapists are health care professionals who diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to the very oldest, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives.

PTs examine each individual and develop a plan using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Holistic Medicine / Chinese Medicine:

At Universal Health Institute we use our extensive studies and practice with herbs together with ancient Chinese formulation theory to design Chinese Herbal formulas for our patients. Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs are complimentary therapies that can adjust the body chemistry for long term effects.  The first textbook of Chinese Botanical Medicine, Shen Nong Ben Cao Gang Mu, was documented 2000 years ago and continues to be foundational for pharmacological and botanical reference for Chinese Herbal Medicine and for our practice.
There are three ways to take Chinese Herbs.

  1. Patent Pills
  2. Granular powders that dissolve in water
  3. Raw herb decoctions for boiling at home

We seek to find the most appropriate method of taking herbs for each patient depending on cost, lifestyle, and compliance.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture is the 3,000 year old medicine that involves the insertion of very fine needles into points along the network of channels (meridians) that span the entire body. These meridians are understood as energetic highways that conduct the movement of vital energy or qi much like an electrical current. Acupuncture comes under the scope of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which also includes Chinese herbal medicine, moxabustion, cupping, tui-na Chinese massage, qi gong (breathing techniques and graceful movements) and nutrition.
Rehabilitation:
Nutritional Counseling:

Along with correcting imbalance that causes pain and disease we also use nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle education to empower our patients about their health.  Knowledge is power and understanding what things you can do to keep yourself well is the essence of preventative medicine and sustainable health.

Massage Therapy:

Massage therapy means many things to many people. In fact, a recently published scholarly article identifies more than 80 different styles of massage, many of which have been developed in the past 30 years! But to start, we can define massage therapy as the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons, and ligaments) to enhance health and wellbeing.
Massage is often used for specific reasons, such as relief from pain, stress reduction or enhancement of athletic performance.

CranioSacral Therapy:

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on healing modality that focuses on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the entire body. This therapy stems from osteopathy, which is an approach that emphasizes the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease.

Activated Healing Response Therapy /Energy Therapy:

An energy therapy that uses gentle hand techniques thought to help re-pattern the patient’s energy field and accelerate healing of the body, mind, and spirit.

Advanced Care:

Recovery from old injuries
Preparation for competitive sports
Exercise counseling to maximize performance
Natural methods to reduce allergies and food sensitivities
Stress reduction program
Corrective care of postural deformities

I came to Universal Health Institute after suffering from a five week long headache behind my eyes. I even got an MRI and nothing was found. The headache subsided after my first treatment, and was completely gone after only three visits!
